I grew in central Saskatchewan, the son of a farmer who grew up during the Great Depression. Living in Osborne Village since 1998, we were excited to learn about the SOFM, and have been fairly regular attendees. In 2008, we bought an acreage near Sperling, so also sometimes take in the Carman Farmer's Market. We have a small orchard out there. Recently I've become interested in regenerative agriculture with respect to rebuilding the soil. We have some space there that is currently under industrial agricultural crop production - I'm considering reclaiming that and rebuilding the soil, which may lead to more fruit and vegetable production than I can shake a stick at.
